ILL - finished 7.8.1998

Your temperature is rising and your throat is sore
your head begins to ache and you're so tired - oh no!
You feel so weak and battered - oh yes, there we go
you're ill.

All you really want to do is get some sleep
you switch off the alarm clock so that it won't beep
you're hungry as a wolf but you don't want to eat
you're ill.

When you're ill
everything you try to do goes wrong
when you're ill
you can't seem to think straight and clear at all.

You call your boss to tell him you won't come today
you'd only make it worse so you'll stay home, you say
the boss he understands and tells you it's OK
'cause you're ill.

<sigh> Why wasn't I born in the thirties? I could have made a living
writing stuff like this. But big bands ain't dead yet, right? Who wants
to join mine?

Not exactly state-of-the-art in technical expertise, but a good song 
anyway...still, I can't say I'm particularly satisfied with this one.
The brass samples are pretty crappy, but that's the best I could manage 
- not the easiest job in the world you know, sampling good brasses or
even finding good ones to rip. Contributed it to the Asm98 compo anyway,
though I really don't expect any success. All the samples were taken 
from my very own big-band-at-home, the old reliable Roland D-10.
