How I did this tune:
1. Came up with silly piano bit from the start.
2. Made the chorus. Decided it sounded funky with octave-separated piano
bit. Smiled, kept it.
3. Copied first verse, added percussion. Added another layer of melody...
I think. (My memory kinda sucks like this, see.)
4. Changed many samples.
5. Went the way of all rock ballads and added lead electric guitar. Yes,
That Electric Lead Guitar. So sue me. ;)
6. Went crazy with the bit in the middle. Got stuck on that for a few
weeks. Yes, WEEKS. It sucked. Frowned very much.
7. Fudged a transposition, experimented with combinations of samples.
Heard electric guitar with chorus sample and loved it *immediately*.
8. Smiled very much indeed. May even have jumped up and down a bit.
10. ...oh, pardon me...
9. *cough* Tweaked, fixed, beta tested with a few people. Ummed and ahhed
about this tune and another similar one, not knowing which to enter at
Wired.
10. Flipped a coin. :)
11. Did the sampletext and song message.
There, proof as if any were needed that I basically suck. :)
Greets to everyone at Wired, especially all the crazy brits, the
organizers (hey, we'd all be stuck at home without you guys! ;) ) and
Kneebiter with his silly intro which I did silly music for (wewp).
More greets to the MC6 organizers. Sno, I phear you for getting me
interested in Perl. GD, I phear you for your infinite(ish) patience.
Judges, I love you all, please vote me 100. ;^)
Anti-greets to the privatized rail companies in the UK. I had to cut it
REALLY FUCKING FINE getting to the Eurostar on time cos the earlier train
would have cost me £98 instead of £30! Bastards!@#
According to some of the people I've spoken to, I'm something of a leader
in the tracked-rock-ballad field.
I'd sure as hell like to think so.
Prove it to me.
WOTE FUR ME!@#
